Women's tennis in BiH gets a boost?

Slovenian Tadeja Majerič, born in Maribor, has expressed a desire to compete under the BiH flag, which would be a big deal for tennis in our country.

Majerič, currently ranked 134th in the world WTA rankings, has competed in several very strong tournaments, achieving notable results. In her professional career, which began in 2005, she has won seven ITF singles titles and three doubles titles.

Majerič was born on August 31, 1990.

Last year, specifically in November, she achieved her best career ranking, placing 111th on the WTA list, and she has represented the Slovenian Fed Cup team on three occasions.

- I have many friends from BiH, and recently Narcis Bećirević became my agent. We discussed the possibility of me competing for BiH. I like the idea, and if talks with the Tennis Federation of BiH take place, I am ready to seriously consider it - said Majerič, who is one of the candidates for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

We remind you that the highest-ranked BiH female tennis player on the WTA list at the moment is Jasmina Tinjić, who is in 252nd position, and such a reinforcement would be beneficial for BiH tennis.

Majerič was born on August 31, 1990.
