The third round of the UEFA Development Tournament was played today, and the BiH cadets convincingly defeated Croatia 5:2 in Zenica, winning first place in the tournament.
Croatia started the match better, taking a 2:0 lead through Marija Klarić in the 1st and 21st minutes. After conceding the second goal, coach Ilija Lucić brought Merjem Medić into the game, who was most responsible for our team's comeback, scoring three goals in the 30th, 34th, and 55th minutes.
Minela Gačanica in the 48th minute and Mia Kuljanin in the 66th minute also scored.
In the other match, Montenegro defeated Macedonia 2:1 in Vogošća.
Coach Ilija Lucić was satisfied with the victory
- All praise to these girls and congratulations on their success. We conceded a goal in the seventeenth second of the match, which shocked us. However, we managed to come back, turn the score around, and win first place in the tournament. I hope we will achieve success in the qualifiers as well - stated Lucić.
BiH finished the tournament in first place with 6 points, the same as second-placed Croatia. Third-placed Montenegro and fourth-placed Macedonia each collected three points.
