SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Miners of the Stara jama and Raspotočje units have halted work due to the decision of the Management of the Dependent Company Brown Coal Mines Zenica to reduce their salary for March by about 200 KM.
The union was neither informed nor gave its consent to such a decision.
"Reducing someone's salary by 200 KM in times like these, especially when production is 49,000 tons per month, is neither normal nor okay," is the message from the union.
Let us recall, the relevant minister Nermin Džindić stated twice in the past few days that everything is stable and safe.
But the work stoppage does not indicate stability.
