Željo's youth write a new page in the history of Bosnian football

The juniors of Željezničar defeated Ludogorets 3:2 in the return match of the UEFA Youth League, reports the Patria agency. 

The young players of Željo thus wrote a new page in the history of our football, as they became the first team from Bosnia and Herzegovina to manage to advance to the second round of the Champions League.

Željo started in the lineup: Dujmović – A. Šehić, Zilić, Velić, Beširević – Osmanović, Hajdarević – E. Šehić, Dacić, Žerić – Mujagić. The guests started with: Naumov – Slavov, Minchev, L. Kovachev, Iliev – Klimentov, Dost – S. Kovachev, Yankov, Ivanov – Dimitrov.

Already in the third minute, the Blues took the lead. Žerić pressed and took the ball from the visiting goalkeeper, the ball came to Semir Dacić who put it into the net. Just four minutes later, the guests equalised. Ivaylo Klimentov took a free kick, shot along the ground and hit the unguarded part of our goal.

In the 17th minute, Minchev received a yellow card after a rough foul on Žerić. In the 20th minute, Zilić shot powerfully from a free kick, but Naumov brilliantly deflected it for a corner. The agile Dacić in the 29th minute caught a volley from 20 metres, but the visiting goalkeeper caught the ball well.

In the next attack, Dacić shot again, this time far from the goal. In the 30th minute, the injured Beširević was replaced by Mujarić. A. Šehić and Klimentov received yellow cards in the 34th minute.

In the 35th minute, Žerić aimed superbly from an angle, but the ball went just wide of the Bulgarian goal. Three minutes later, Žerić caused havoc on the left side, but his shot was blocked by a Ludogorets defender. Željo threatened again in the 40th minute.

Just at the moment when the northern stand roared, Mujagić and Mujarić played a one-two, the latter shot powerfully, but the ball went wide of the goal. The fantastic crowd carried Željo's youth. Osmanović also shot from distance in the same minute, then Hajdarević's shot went just wide of the post. A minute later, after a corner, Zilić headed wide.

In the 45th minute, Željo threatened, this time Mujagić failed to shoot in the penalty area. The half-time score was 1:1.

Hajdarević received a yellow card in the third minute of the second half. In the 53rd minute, a good corner for Željo, but the ball bounced in front of the visiting goal in the scramble. Željo took the lead in the 55th minute. E. Šehić made a great run down the left side, crossed, and Ajdin Mujagić put the ball into the net. In the 58th minute, Dacić headed wide. A minute later, Mujagić shot over the goal from distance.

In the 64th minute, Petrov replaced Yankov. Two minutes later, Milkov replaced Ivanov. A minute later, Milkov threatened, his shot from the edge of the penalty area went wide. However, a minute later, Milkov was precise. He used a cross from the side and headed past Dujmović. 

Dacić attempted a header in the 75th minute, the ball went wide. In the 80th minute, Klimentov was replaced by Valchev. Dacić was replaced by Hasanović in the 82nd minute. In the 85th minute, Osmanović was replaced by Nuhanović. In the 90th minute, E. Šehić shot superbly from distance, but the ball went just wide of the visiting goal. 

In the 93rd minute, Grbavica erupted! The winning goal for advancement to the second round was scored by Haris Hajdarević.
