The healthcare system is not protected from collapse by refusing patients

(Patria) - The latest developments in BiH, especially in Sarajevo regarding the fight against coronavirus, have reminded the capital's residents that our healthcare system is good for everyone except patients.

Even before the crisis, we didn't have cytostatics, medicines, we didn't have gauze, wound cleaning supplies, so why are we surprised now. Miracles don't happen overnight.

The real message was sent by Dr. Dragan Stevanović, who made himself available to the General Hospital "Prim. Dr. Abdulah Nakaš".

"The healthcare system is not protected from collapse by refusing patients, but by working harder, better organization, and visiting patients at home to properly screen patients for further treatment, rather than having patients wander through institutions," Stevanović is clear.

Two deaths in the capital, Sejfudin Gogić from Briješće and Dr. Šefik Pašagić, have opened numerous questions. It is particularly worrying that patients have to call and beg for help countless times.

It is unclear why hospitals and clinics are half-empty, while patients die at home, or arrive at Podhrastovi in a very serious condition.

Although health centers claim that all necessary algorithms have been implemented in terms of medical procedures in the given circumstances regarding these deaths, it is unclear why KCUS has not commented, why Dr. Pašagić's tests were not done before he was put under anesthesia?

It is clear that doctors must protect themselves and that the virus must not enter healthcare facilities, but it is also clear that so far it has entered directly through doctors, not a single patient brought the virus to the hospital!
Therefore, people were maximally honest, they talked about their contacts, places of stay, there was no false information, which doctors warned about. Now is the time when Dr. Stevanović's advice must be followed.
