Request sent to international organizations in BiH over promotion of war criminal's book

(Patria) - Associations of genocide victims and witnesses have sent a letter to international organizations in BiH over the promotion of a war criminal's book.

"The promotion of the book of convicted war criminal Valentin Ćorić in the packed hall of the Dom Hercega Stjepana Kosače in Mostar shows that the statements of Lidija Bradara, Sanja Vlaisavljević and Dario Kordić are not just a cry of individuals or a group of impassioned nationalists, but an organized system that emerged in the 1920s and has persisted within that framework.

Our persistent appeals to international and domestic organizations and individuals are not aimed at saving us, but rather our plea that such groups and individuals are becoming a danger to democracy throughout the EU. For years we have warned that war criminals are glorified as heroes in their communities - Šljivančanin teaches students in Serbia, which horrifies all of Croatia, Valentin Ćorić promotes books in Croatia and parts of BiH under Croatian control, which does not horrify Croatia, but rather approves.

Fikret Abdić trains his grandchildren to follow in his footsteps. Their common denominator: convicted war criminal! We again call on international and domestic officials to completely cease contacts with all persons who glorify or in any way support convicted war criminals.

This is not just our cry, this is a legal obligation of everyone who lives and works in Bosnia and Herzegovina! (Article 145a of the Criminal Code of BiH)," states the letter submitted to the European Commission, OHR, OSCE and UN.
