Three BiH border guards, UIO officials, and four BiH citizens arrested for bribery and corruption

(Patria) - As part of the "Snimak" operation conducted by SIPA together with police officers of the Border Police, three police officers of the Border Police, three officials of the Indirect Taxation Authority of Bosnia and Herzegovina have been arrested for receiving gifts and other benefits, while four citizens of BiH have been arrested for giving gifts and other benefits.

As announced by SIPA, the operation is being conducted in the areas of Kakanj, Zenica, Teslić, Prijedor, Novi Grad, Gradiška, Srbac, Prnjavor, Kostajnica, and Kozarska Dubica.

Searches of residential, auxiliary buildings, and movable property are being carried out at several locations, due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that criminal offenses of association for the purpose of committing criminal offenses, giving gifts and other benefits, and receiving gifts and other benefits, as prescribed by the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, have been committed.

"Upon completion of the activities in the field, the persons deprived of liberty will be taken to official premises for criminal processing and questioning as suspects, and their further status will be decided by the acting prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The activities are being carried out under the orders of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with the Ministries of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska and Zenica-Doboj Canton, as well as the Intelligence-Security Agency," the statement said.
