Protests in front of the HJPC end, citizens demand resignation of Tegeltija, Burzić...

(Patria) - The protests of citizens in front of the building of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina ended around 1 p.m. Citizens, including the Minister of Security of BiH Dragan Mektić, demanded the resignation of the HJPC leadership "due to inaction and corruption."

The gathered citizens demanded the removal of the HJPC President Milan Tegeltija and all members of this judicial body in the country due to poor performance and corruption.

Arijana Memić, sister of the murdered Dženan Memić, also demanded in her requests the removal of Dalida Burzić, former chief prosecutor of the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office, now a judge of the Court of BiH, as well as Milan Tegeltija.

More than 600 people from all over BiH gathered at the protests initiated by Minister Mektić, and new gatherings have been announced.

The protests were prompted after the media published an article about the involvement of the President of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milan Tegeltija, in a corruption affair, in which he was supposed to influence the then chief prosecutor of Sarajevo Canton, Dalida Burzić, to expedite a criminal case, while Marko Pandža, an inspector of the Agency for Investigation and Protection of BiH (SIPA), took 2,000 KM from a businessman from Velika Kladuša for that service, noting that he would use that money to "shoe" Tegeltija.
