First cycling 'Tour of BiH' completed, covering 390 km: Winner is Slovenian Mihael Štajnar

(Patria) - Slovenian Mihael Štajnar, riding for Pogi Team Gusto Ljubljana, is the winner of the first edition of the cycling race "Tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina".

In the final stage from Ljubuški to Neum, the fastest was Romanian Alin Toader (Romanina National Team), the second-placed was Albanian Valentin Kamberaj (Albania National Team), while the third place was taken by Italian Raffaele Veneri (Gallina Ecotek Lucchini).

Štajnar, who was leading after yesterday's second stage, crossed the finish line in the main group with the winner's time (2:34:38), which was enough for him to secure the overall victory ahead of Pole Jakub Kaczmarek (Voster ATS Team) and Dutchman Lars Quaedvlieg (Universe Cycling Team).

The finish line in Neum marked the completion of 390 kilometers of the race's total route, designed as a unique journey through Bosnia and Herzegovina, connecting urban centers, untouched nature, mountain passes, rivers, and historical cities.

The first professional cycling race in Bosnia and Herzegovina was organized under the auspices of the International Cycling Union (UCI). This marks Bosnia and Herzegovina's first participation in organizing competitions of this highest rank.

'Tour of BiH', which featured 175 professional cyclists from 38 countries with strong support from the Olympic Committee of BiH, with a total length of 390 kilometers and an elevation gain of 4,400 meters, was held in three stages from Sarajevo via Ljubuški to Neum from Friday to Sunday.
