Polling stations closed in Kiseljak, Fojnica, Konjic and Kreševo

(Patria) - Local elections were held today in the municipalities of Kiseljak, Fojnica, Konjic and Kreševo, previously postponed due to catastrophic floods.

Polling stations opened this morning at 7 AM and closed this evening at 7 PM, exactly two weeks after mayors and municipal and city councils were elected in the rest of our country.

A total of 54,379 registered voters, with the help of 16 mobile teams, had the opportunity to vote at 118 polling stations.

Konjic had the largest number of voters, with 21,951 voters able to vote at 51 polling stations. Kiseljak followed with 17,933 registered voters at 26 polling stations.

In Fojnica, where 10,555 citizens had the right to vote, 18 polling stations were open, while Kreševo had the smallest number of voters - 3,940.

Due to specific circumstances, the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted special measures. Voters whose personal documents were destroyed in the floods were allowed to vote today by presenting a special ID card form (LK-O-I4), which they could obtain from the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

In addition, to ensure the transparency and regularity of the election process in Fojnica, all ballot papers bore a special stamp marked "postponed elections".

This additional measure was introduced by the CEC of BiH because the ballot papers were already with the polling station committees, but without any doubt that the election material had been compromised.

The only municipality where local elections have not yet been held is Jablanica, as conditions for their implementation are still not met due to the consequences of the floods.
