House of Representatives of PSBiH did not appoint a new member of the Central Election Commission: None of the four candidates received majority support

(Patria) - The House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament did not appoint a new member of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of BiH from the 'others' category tonight.

There were 33 representatives present during the vote, and none of the four candidates received the support of the majority of representatives, reports Istraga.

Previously, the House of Representatives of PSBiH announced a Public Call for the appointment of a CEC BiH member from the 'others' category.

A total of six candidates applied for the call, and the Election and Appointment Commission awarded the highest number of points to Nada Đekić and Jasmina Ramić-Odobašić, who received an equal number of points (38.57 percent each).

The House of Representatives of PS BiH voted on each candidate individually.

The Commission then submitted a ranking list of candidates to the House of Representatives of PSBiH, which, in accordance with the BiH Election Law, was supposed to appoint one of the candidates.

SNSD representative Sanja Vulić stated during the discussion that Ramić-Odobašić is already employed at the CEC and that SNSD cannot support her.

She added that the scoring was rigged and that the "principal" of the CEC is the High Representative Christian Schmidt, whom she called an "occupier".

She also claimed that she is the cousin of the member of the BiH Presidency Željko Komšić, which DF representative Zlatan Begić stated was absolutely not true.

In response, Begić pointed out that Nada Đekić was part of the SNSD municipal structures in Doboj.

- Now this person is going directly to the CEC. If DF wanted a member of the CEC, I would have applied for that position myself, and we would see who has a stronger biography than me. I am shocked by your claims - said Begić.

Đekić holds the position of Head of the Service for Normative Legal Affairs in the City Administration of Doboj. SNSD itself presents her as their cadre.

She was a member of the City Election Commission in Doboj, a city where the CEC BiH has recorded numerous electoral irregularities for years. She is close to SNSD and is a candidate for membership in the CEC BiH.
