
(Patria) - The 17th regular session of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of FBiH, originally scheduled for January 28, will be held today in Sarajevo, starting at 10 AM.
A total of 16 items are on the agenda, with the first being the Information on undertaken and planned measures, activities, and results in the rehabilitation and recovery of flood-affected areas.
The Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Law on Pension and Disability Insurance will be considered under urgent procedure, and under abbreviated procedure, the Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Law on Allocation and Direction of Part of the Revenue of Enterprises Generated by the Operation of Thermal Power Plants, and the Proposal for the Law on Amendments and Additions to the Law on Financial Support in Agriculture and Rural Development.
Representatives will also discuss the Proposal for the Law on Protection from Domestic Violence and Violence Against Women in the Federation of BiH, as well as the Proposal for the Law on Amendments and Additions to the Criminal Code of FBiH.
Regarding the proposed law on protection from domestic violence and violence against women in FBiH, representatives will decide whether to introduce urgent protection measures implemented by police bodies in FBiH, and the possibility of electronic monitoring of perpetrators who have been issued a restraining order from their residence and proximity to the victim.
The adoption of this law was proposed by the Federal Ministry of Justice with the aim of introducing the criminal offense of violating protection measures, for which a prison sentence of up to three years is prescribed, while the penal policy for perpetrators of domestic violence and violence against women is significantly tightened.
The Commission for Gender Equality of the House of Representatives, and representatives Alma Kratina and Vibor Handžić, drafted the Bill on Protection from Domestic Violence, which was adopted by both houses of the FBiH Parliament in 2022. Based on the collected suggestions, the competent ministry prepared the text of the Proposal for this law, which will be discussed at today's session.
The agenda also includes the Draft Law on Price Control, the Strategy for Long-Term Renovation of Buildings in the Federation of BiH for the period until 2050, the Strategy for the Development of the Textile, Clothing, Leather, and Footwear Industry in FBiH for the period 2024-2033, and the Debt Management Strategy 2024-2026.
Among the last items is the Initiative for Amendments to the Constitution of the Federation of BiH, proposed by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Edina Gabela.
