Facebook status bothered him: Selmanović reported Muzur to KS MUP for vile threats

(Patria) - Member of the Sarajevo Canton (KS) Assembly Faruk Selmanović (SDA) today filed a criminal complaint with the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) of KS against the Mayor of Ilidža Municipality Nermin Muzur (NiP).

Selmanović confirmed this for the Novinska agencija Patria (NAP), stating that the reason for his action was the vile threats he received from Muzur, after he posted a comment on Facebook yesterday about the tragic tram accident in which a 23-year-old young man died and four people were injured.

"Today, a life was lost in Sarajevo because a tram derailed near the National Museum. One person died. Two were injured. The station was demolished. And tonight, we will listen to how it is all 'under investigation' and how the 'system reacted.'

But let's be honest with ourselves. Last night, the president of NiP and Mayor Muzur were convincing us that we live in a time of 'historical reconstruction and expansion of the tram line,' and SDP has been doing it for months.

Ribbons are being cut, promotional videos are being released, eulogies are being written about the 'most modern tram infrastructure in the region.'

And at the same time, when the public asks why prices have risen, they get silence. When they ask who supervised the works, they get bureaucratic fog. When they ask why deadlines are being missed, they get a new press conference.

Today we got the answer to all those questions. In the worst possible way.

I express my condolences to the family of the tragically deceased, and I tell the Government of Sarajevo Canton that they will be held accountable," Selmanović wrote yesterday.

In a brief statement to NAP, he explained that he received threats from Muzur over the phone.

"I was at a meeting and I saw on my phone that I had a missed call. My phone rang again, I saw that Nermin Muzur was calling me.

Since I know him personally, I answered, thinking it was something urgent. But I had no idea that he would direct numerous vile threats at me on that occasion.

Insults started immediately, from how I shouldn't answer the phone, that I'm a scumbag, that he will personally deal with me when all this is over.

That my career is over, that I shouldn't even mention his name. And then another series of insults and threats followed...

It was all a shock to me, considering that I am not a confrontational person, that I support political diversity, opinions, and arguments. I have never been a person of personal arguments and threats.

We can disagree, but why the threats? Everyone has the right to an opinion, but not to threats," Selmanović told us.
