Žarko Vujović removed from the position of President of the Tuzla Canton Assembly

(Patria) - At today's session of the Tuzla Canton Assembly, a majority vote decided to remove Žarko Vujović from the position of Assembly President.

24 out of a total of 27 present deputies voted for his removal, while three abstained, and no deputy voted against.

The initiative for his removal was launched in February by the Democratic Front (DF) deputies' club, after which the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) deputies also gave their support. The reasons cited include political disagreements within the Assembly, as well as Vujović's move to the Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina after being expelled from the DF.

"According to the coalition agreement, the position of President of the Tuzla Canton Assembly belongs to the DF. After Vujović's expulsion from the party, we tolerated him remaining in that position, but after he joined the Party for BiH, we initiated his removal," said Ivana Mijatović, head of the DF deputies' club in the Tuzla Canton Assembly.

The decision was confirmed at the session where, according to voting records, most deputies from the Social Democratic Party (SDP), DF, SDA, and other parties supported the proposal.

The new leadership of the Tuzla Canton Assembly is expected to be elected on Friday, March 27.
