State Prime Minister Denis Zvizdić is calling for public companies to get involved in financing sports and culture, after the BiH U16 basketball team won gold at the Eurobasket in Lithuania.

At the same time, sources of the Patria news agency from the FBiH Government reveal, Prime Minister Fadil Novalić has been holding back approval from the Supervisory Boards of Elektroprivreda BiH and BH Telecom (?) for a month to transfer one million KM from their accounts to sports federations in BiH, which still needs to be approved by the FBiH Government!

Interestingly, both the state and federal prime ministers are high-ranking SDA officials, but this time they are not coordinated in their statements, at least not in those they have made public.

Patria agency sources from the FBiH Government explain that no one in the Government understands why Prime Minister Novalić does not want to put on the agenda the item requesting the Government's consent to transfer money from public companies to the Football, Basketball, Handball, and Sitting Volleyball Federations of BiH, when the Supervisory Boards of two public companies have already given their consent to pay the money that our athletes desperately need.

It should be known that financing sports federations in BiH with money from public companies is not new, as companies have paid money to federations even during the previous government of Nermin Nikšić.

The cadet basketball team of BiH experienced an unpleasant situation a few days ago at the Eurobasket in Lithuania, when they were almost disqualified from the competition because the participation fee of 10,000 euros had not been paid for them.

The golden boys, who would climb the winners' podium 24 hours later, were saved from embarrassment by the domestic retail chain FIS Vitez, owned by Pero Gudelj, who paid the fee.

Prime Minister Novalić and Zvizdić, of course, did not miss the opportunity to be the first to congratulate the young BiH basketball players after they returned with the golden trophy.

To make everything even more absurd, the first congratulations came precisely from Novalić, who, for reasons only he knows, is holding back one million KM that two public companies intended for BiH athletes.
