Police officer's car set on fire after he previously prevented a car theft!

In Ćamil Marić Street in the Sarajevo neighborhood of Hrasnica, around 3:15 AM this morning, a Golf station wagon was set on fire, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

A quick reaction from citizens prevented the fire from spreading to other parked vehicles. The car belongs to a police officer who recently prevented thieves from stealing a VW Polo from the same parking lot at the same location.

Recall, in early July, three thieves arrived in a Škoda Octavia and pushed a Polo car from a nearby parking lot. However, when one of the thieves tried to start the car, the police officer reacted by cocking his pistol.

The frightened thieves then abandoned that car, ran to the Škoda Octavia, and sped off in an unknown direction at high speed.

A police patrol from the Ministry of Interior of the Sarajevo Canton quickly arrived at the scene, where a report was filed and witnesses to the theft were questioned.

Whether this is an act of revenge will be determined by the investigation, but residents of this Sarajevo neighborhood are very upset and are demanding a swift response from the authorities.
