Western Balkans without roaming: New agreement with EU to lower prices soon

(Patria) - The Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) announced that roaming prices across the entire Western Balkans have drastically dropped as of today, July 1. Citizens of the Western Balkans will be able to talk, surf, and send SMS messages much more, while paying much less.

On average, prices for outgoing phone calls have dropped by 65 percent, and data transfer prices by 78 percent, which are certainly significant reductions, in some cases reaching as much as 99 percent.

For example, the price of outgoing calls in some cases has dropped to 0.08 euro cents, and data transfer prices to 0.03 euro cents, depending on the operator.

Some operators have even reported lower prices than the stated maximums.

Additionally, a new agreement with the European Union is in the works, which will enable the reduction of roaming prices with the Western Balkans.

The Regional Cooperation Council wishes to thank the governments of the Western Balkans, the European Commission, and its staff for the enormous work they have done to make this change a reality.
