(Patria) - Jordan and the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council for Arab States, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, have submitted a Resolution to the UN Security Council condemning the latest Iranian attacks.
As Istraga has learned, these countries have asked Bosnia and Herzegovina to be a co-sponsor of the resolution.
"These unjustified and unprovoked attacks constitute a flagrant violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the targeted states and a clear violation of the fundamental rules and principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations," the letter states.
It is emphasized that they are exposed to continuous attacks by Iran, including missiles and drones, which indiscriminately target civilians and civilian infrastructure.
"These continuous indiscriminate attacks in densely populated areas have resulted in deaths and injuries.
In response, the Kingdom of Bahrain, on behalf of the GCC member states and Jordan, has submitted a draft Security Council Resolution condemning these heinous attacks.
It calls for an immediate cessation of all attacks by the Islamic Republic of Iran against them and reaffirms the principles of the UN Charter, including respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity," the letter reads.
It is emphasized that Bahrain intends to open the draft resolution for co-sponsorship by both member and non-member states of the Security Council.
"Given the seriousness of the situation, the Kingdom of Bahrain, on behalf of the GCC states and Jordan, has the honor to invite member states to co-sponsor the draft Security Council Resolution," it adds.
