MOSTAR, (Patria) - The FBiH Government adopted several conclusions regarding the situation in Aluminij, after a meeting of government members and representatives of Aluminij was held today.
"It was agreed that Aluminij can no longer survive in this format due to market circumstances, and therefore its format must change in the coming period," FBiH Prime Minister Fadil Novalić told reporters.
One of the conclusions after today's meeting is that the management of Aluminij should be given a period until the New Year to attempt restructuring within the existing legal entity, which is heavily indebted and facing problems.
"If that does not work, then other options and variants will be considered. This involves the termination of this legal continuity and a transition to a new one," Novalić said, stating that efforts will be made to revive parts of Aluminij that require less electricity than was previously needed.
The Prime Minister also announced the continuation of negotiations with potential partners.
In the meantime, Novalić announced, four groups of employees will be designated: those eligible for retirement today, those who will become eligible for retirement in three years, those without whom Aluminij cannot function technologically, and those who wish to receive severance pay, which can only be obtained from the factory's funds.
Prime Minister Fadil Novalić said it is important to preserve what constitutes Aluminij - the equipment and buildings.
