Joint meeting of candidates for SDP president: First round of elections on September 20

Today, a meeting of the Central Election Commission of the Social Democratic Party of BiH (CIK SDP) and candidates for the SDP BiH president was held in Sarajevo. This officially marks the beginning of the campaign for the election of a new SDP BiH president, which will last until September 19, reports the Patria News Agency. 

In addition to agreeing on the technical aspects of the campaign, the meeting once again expressed the absolute agreement of the presidential candidates and CIK SDP members that the campaign should proceed in a fair and correct atmosphere, with mutual respect and appreciation, and that SDP BiH should emerge even stronger from this campaign.

During the campaign, among other things, 12 debates will be held across BiH, where presidential candidates will present their programs and visions for leading the party in the next period to the membership.

The first round of elections will be held on Sunday, September 20, when all SDP BiH members will have the opportunity to go to the polls and elect a new SDP BiH President. This is the first time in BiH that a political party is electing its president on the principle of One member-one vote, it was announced from SDP.
