Over 600 boys played football in Odžak over the weekend

The 1st International Friendship Tournament Odžak 2015 for girls and boys, organized by the Mali Tulipani Football School from Odžak, has concluded. The tournament organizer is more than satisfied with the turnout for this tournament, which featured over 600 participants, but unfortunately, some cancelled their participation due to fears for the children because of the unbearable heat, writes the Patria News Agency.

During the tournament, temperatures on the field itself exceeded 40 degrees Celsius. The organizer took all possible measures to provide playing conditions for all participants... sufficient fluids, professional medical staff, and doctors on the field.

Fortunately, there were no serious incidents, only a few sports injuries or cases of exhaustion... Everyone is a winner at this tournament; we wouldn't single anyone out because that's the essence of sports, socializing, and working with the youngest... getting them off the streets and directing them towards training.

The general sponsor of the tournament was the Odžak-based company Strolit d.o.o., along with others who supported it. The tournament was closed and awards were presented by Murat Jaha, representative of the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who also presented the host with 10 Adidas balls and a certain number of markers on behalf of the Association.

The tournament was also attended by young PSV Eindhoven footballer Amar Ćatić, who is originally from Odžak and is considered by experts to be a huge potential, a talent, and, as hoped, a future representative of BiH.

Tournament coordinator Salih Kamarić thanked everyone at the end and invited them to another similar gathering in the winter period by the end of the year. He also promised that this tournament will become a tradition starting next summer.
