FBiH Government allocates 24.3 million KM for air traffic improvement, most to Bihać Airport Public Enterprise

(Patria) - At the proposal of the Federal Ministry of Transport and Communications, the FBiH Government today adopted
decisions on the adoption of programs for the expenditure of funds by which airports in Sarajevo, Mostar and Tuzla, as well as Bihać,
are allocated a total of 24.3 million KM from this year's Federal budget for the improvement of air traffic in
the Federation of BiH.

One decision adopted the Program for the expenditure of funds in the amount of a total of 7,000,000 KM of Current
Transfers "Subsidies to Public Enterprises - for the Improvement of Air Traffic of FBiH" to the Federal Ministry of
Transport and Communications. With this decision, 3,000,000 KM is allocated to the Public Enterprise Sarajevo International Airport Ltd. Sarajevo, and 2,000,000 KM each to the Public Enterprises Mostar International Airport Ltd. and Tuzla International Airport Ltd. These funds are intended for operating costs and subsidizing existing and opening new air routes.

The second decision relates to the adoption of the Program for the expenditure of funds in the amount of 17,000,000 KM from
Capital Transfers "Capital Transfers to Public Enterprises - for the Improvement of Air Traffic of FBiH" to the Federal Ministry of
Transport and Communications, which are allocated to the Public Enterprise Bihać Airport Ltd. These funds will be spent on land acquisition, land conversion costs, construction of the airport complex (PSS, apron, taxiways), and the preparation of studies for obtaining water permits. This also includes costs for supervision of works, revision services (harmonization of project-technical documentation, as well as revision of the main project, consulting services, and services for the preparation of a master plan or detailed regulation plan of the Bihać airport complex. Furthermore, the funds are intended for the costs of obstacle survey services, procurement of a mobile meteorological station, and preparation of main and conceptual designs.

In addition, by the second decision on the adoption of the Program for the expenditure of funds from Current Transfers "Subsidies to Public Enterprises – for the Improvement of Air Traffic of FBiH", Bihać Airport is allocated 300,000 KM for
subsidizing the current operations of this enterprise.

Furthermore, the Federal Ministry of Transport and Communications is tasked with continuously monitoring the expenditure of allocated funds, as well as signing contracts with public enterprises that will regulate the method of fund transfer, the public procurement procedure, and reporting on spent funds. These public enterprises are obliged to report quarterly to the Federal Ministry on the expenditure of allocated funds. After the expenditure of funds, and no later than February 28, 2025, they are obliged to prepare a comprehensive report on the transferred funds spent and submit it to the Ministry along with the decisions of the supervisory boards on the adoption of the reports.
