(Patria) - The Public Call of the Ministry for Veterans' Affairs of ZDK for granting incentives for self-employment and employment has been completed. Signing contracts with beneficiaries is planned by the end of the month.
According to the Minister for Veterans' Affairs, Adnan Sirovica, under the employment program, 14 applications were received, of which 12 were approved.
Under the self-employment program, a total of 238 applications were received for all variants, and 212 were approved, of which 138 are beneficiaries of the "First Business" program, i.e., 138 new companies founded by members of the veteran population in this canton.
- This involves significant funds for the veteran population amounting to 2.3 million KM, and this support will certainly mean a lot to our veterans.
It is planned that contracts with beneficiaries of these programs will be signed by the end of the month in cities and municipalities, so that veterans are not exposed to additional costs of traveling to the Ministry's headquarters - said Sirovica.
This year, co-financing for the establishment and launch of "First Business" businesses is planned for applicants who registered the planned activity starting from January 1, 2024, until the conclusion of the public call, in the amount of 12,000 KM each.
Variant "A" "Business Plus" implies support for previous beneficiaries of this Program, for beneficiaries who employed one or more workers in the period from 2024 until the conclusion of the public call, in the amount of up to 10,000 KM.
Variant "B" implies support in the amount of 1,500 KM each for beneficiaries of the "First Business" program from 2024, who have maintained their tax registration and settled their tax obligations.
The employment incentive program for members of the veteran population involves granting funds to business entities, excluding public enterprises and companies in which the Federation, Canton, City, or Municipality holds a majority ownership stake, for the purpose of employing members of the veteran population, based on applications submitted by members of the veteran population.
For this year, the proposed amount per newly employed worker is 8,820 KM for a period of 12 months.
- The goal of these programs, which have been implemented for many years, is to reduce the unemployment rate among members of the veteran population of this canton, and thereby address their existential issues and improve their socio-economic status - says Sirovica.
He notes that 150,000.00 KM has also been allocated for the Employment and Self-Employment Program for children of martyrs and fallen soldiers, implemented by the Employment Service of ZDK. The public call is ongoing.
