For whose interests is Edin Mušić blocking the work of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH?

The Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of FBiH, Edin Mušić, continues to violate the Rules of Procedure of the House of Representatives, which is equivalent to violating the Constitution of FBiH, according to the case law of the Constitutional Court of FBiH, it was announced from SDP BiH and DF.

- Mušić refused to convene a session within the period stipulated by the Rules of Procedure, at which the Bill on Electoral Units and the Number of Mandates of the Parliament of FBiH would be considered.

We call on Mušić to explain to the public why and in whose interest he is violating the Rules of Procedure and preventing the consideration of such an important law, whose goal is to preserve the democratic order in BiH, by ensuring the implementation of election results.

We have so far sent a request to Speaker Mušić with a qualified number of signatures for holding three extraordinary sessions of this legislative body. We requested that these sessions discuss the situation of the entire veteran population with a special focus on demobilized veterans in the Federation of BiH, the situation in the education system, as well as the consideration of the Law on Electoral Units and the Number of Mandates of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH.

Although almost half a year has passed since some of these requests, and the deadline for scheduling an extraordinary session is 14 days from the receipt of the request, Speaker Mušić has not yet done so. By doing so, he has completely consciously violated, and continues to violate, the Rules of Procedure of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of FBiH.

We emphasize that, in accordance with the Rules of Procedure of the Parliament, after receiving a request to hold an extraordinary session with 20 or more MP signatures, the Speaker is obliged to convene such a session within 14 days. Therefore, he has no discretionary right to consider such requests, let alone postpone them.

It is obvious that with such illegal behavior, Speaker Mušić not only ignores valid requests from MPs but also shows that neither veterans, nor education, nor the regulation of the electoral system in the Federation of BiH actually interest him, SDA, and their coalition partners.

The caucuses of SDP BiH and DF MPs in the House of Representatives of the Parliament of FBiH once again call on Edin Mušić to urgently schedule the aforementioned extraordinary sessions so that these important topics can be discussed. If he does not do so in accordance with the Rules of Procedure, we expect his deputies from HDZ and SBB to do so, and if they do not, then the SDP and DF caucuses will convene the sessions themselves, in accordance with the provisions of the Rules of Procedure that allow it - say SDP and DF.
