
SARAJEVO, (Patria) – The records of the Employment Service of the Sarajevo Canton this morning show 58,837 persons, and since March 18, 808 have been newly registered, confirmed for Patria from the Service.
An increased influx is expected from April 10 to 15, when employers who employ a larger number of workers will decide on layoffs after seeing the proposed measures of the Sarajevo Canton Government and the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Government regarding assistance to employers.
Numerous activities that have been prevented from operating during the coronavirus epidemic remain without income, and workers in tourism and service industries are particularly affected.
The implementation of concrete measures to ease the burden on businesses has not yet begun. The Sarajevo Canton Government has announced the financing of the minimum wage for March per worker in the amount of 406 KM, but only for those employers who do not lay off workers. The same measure will be implemented for April.
On March 18, the records of the Employment Service of the Sarajevo Canton showed 58,029 persons.
Most of the newly registered state that they received layoffs due to the crisis caused by the coronavirus.
