Vukanović for NAP: Uncertain support from RS National Assembly for Dodik's conclusion

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - I think that after the debate at the special session of the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska, it could happen that MPs from the ruling majority also vote against Dodik's conclusion.

This was confirmed for the Patria Agency by Nebojša Vukanović, SDS MP in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska. The SDS previously announced that they would be against Dodik's conclusion, and a part of PDP MPs did the same.

"I expect MPs from the majority to realize during the debate that they should oppose it. Although, they are cowards, so we will see what happens," Vukanović told Patria.

We remind you that a special session of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska will begin at 12:00 PM in Banja Luka, at the request of the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milorad Dodik, where MPs will declare on the "Proposal of the decision on confirming Dodik's statement on the Conclusion on the official position of Bosnia and Herzegovina regarding the continuation of the construction of the Komarna - Pelješac bridge, which is very harmful to the vital interests of the Republika Srpska".

The Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at its session on Tuesday, with two votes in favor and one against, passed a conclusion calling on Croatia to stop the construction of the Pelješac bridge and to resolve all open issues through dialogue, as BiH has the right to access the open sea. If this does not happen, BiH will initiate mediation proceedings, and if necessary, will initiate proceedings before the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea. Presidency members Željko Komšić and Šefik Džaferović voted for such a conclusion, while the Chairman of the Presidency, Milorad Dodik, was against it. Dodik invoked the issue of vital national interest.

Legal expert Muharem Cero previously assessed for the Patria News Agency that Dodik does not have the constitutional right to invoke a vital entity interest in this specific case.
