SARAJEVO, (Patria) - It is not right for anyone to provoke, especially not if it concerns a minority, was the reaction of SDS representative in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska Nebojša Vukanović to the provocations experienced by Trebinje imam Sadmir Mustafić in Trebinje.
We recall, under the window of the apartment where Imam Mustafić lives, about 30 younger persons gathered, singing Chetnik songs and thereby disturbing the imam's family.
Vukanović also says he had a meeting with Imam Mustafić and adds: ”Such situations can trigger a series of chain reactions, where Serbs are in the minority.”
“Fortunately, nothing major happened. I heard there was some gathering of fans, probably a bit of drinking, but there is no excuse. Manhood is to protect others from themselves. In Trebinje, even during the war, there were the fewest ugly things, and it is not right to create any incidents that could harm the city of Trebinje as well,” Vukanović stated.
As he says, he is glad that the majority of citizens condemned this incident.
He added that he expects reactions from the Trebinje authorities as well.
“This is unfortunately a consequence of tensions raised by politicians and an indicator of the general decline of morals in society. I sincerely hope that such things will not happen again,” Vukanović concluded.
