Drive Carefully, Traffic Frequency Increased: Columns Towards Borders

(Patria) - Favorable weather conditions are contributing to smooth traffic on the roads in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Vehicle frequency is increased, so BIHAMK advises drivers to be as careful as possible, maintain distance between vehicles, and avoid risky overtaking. We also ask other traffic participants to respect traffic regulations.

On the main roads Dobro Polje-Miljevina, Tuzla-Bijeljina, and Jablanica-Blidinje, traffic is allowed for vehicles up to 3.5 tons, while it remains suspended for vehicles over 3.5 tons, according to BIHAMK.

Due to road repair works, the A-1 highway section Kakanj-Lašva (3 km long) is closed, and vehicles are being redirected to use the opposite side of the highway in both directions.

On the A-1 highway sections Sarajevo sjever-Podlugovi, Sarajevo zapad-Lepenica, and Bijača-Počitelj (Hercegovina bridge), traffic is diverted to the overtaking lane due to ongoing works.

On the main road M-5 border crossing Izačić-Bihać, bridge reconstruction works over the Mrižnica stream are being carried out. Vehicles are being redirected to a temporary bypass in the immediate vicinity of the works, with alternating traffic flow.

At border crossings, passenger vehicle traffic is increased. We highlight the crossings Velika Kladuša, Hum, and Vradište, where there are long queues of vehicles exiting Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the Gradina crossing entering our country. At other border crossings, passenger vehicle waiting times are up to 30 minutes. We remind you that the new border crossing Gradiška is temporarily open for traffic of all categories of motor vehicles.

Due to passenger registration under the new EU entry/exit system (EES, Entry/Exit System), longer waiting times at border crossings are possible.

The Brčko border crossing is open for passenger vehicles up to 3.5 tons. As of December 2, 2025, the Karakaj border crossing is open for all categories of vehicles. Traffic for all types of trucks is prohibited at the Šepak border crossing.
