Drivers Caution: Congestion Expected During the Day, Works on A-1 Highway and Main Roads

(Patria) - This morning, traffic in Bosnia and Herzegovina is flowing without extraordinary restrictions and under favorable weather conditions. During the day, increased vehicle frequency is expected, which is why BIHAMK appeals to drivers to be cautious, maintain a safe following distance, and avoid risky overtaking. They also remind of the mandatory use of seat belts.

The number of cyclists and motorcyclists on the roads has increased, so all traffic participants are called upon to respect traffic regulations and show mutual respect.

Due to road rehabilitation works, the three-kilometer section of the A-1 highway Kakanj – Lašva is closed, and traffic is running in both directions on the opposite side of the highway.

On the A-1 highway, on the sections Sarajevo north – Podlugovi, Sarajevo west – Lepenica, and Bijača – Počitelj (Hercegovina bridge), due to ongoing works, vehicles are traveling in the passing lane.

On the main roads Dobro Polje – Miljevina, Tuzla – Bijeljina, and Jablanica – Blidinje, traffic is allowed for vehicles up to 3.5 tons, while for heavier vehicles, traffic remains suspended.

Regular maintenance works are also being carried out in the area of Lanište, on the main road Ključ – Bosanski Petrovac, where from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., except on weekends, traffic alternates in one lane.

On the main road M-5, on the section border crossing Izačić – Bihać, reconstruction of the bridge over the Mrižnica stream is underway, due to which vehicles are being redirected to a temporary bypass with alternating passage.

On the main road Srbac – Derventa, a complete traffic suspension is in effect until the end of June due to rehabilitation works, and vehicles are using an alternative route via Prnjavor.

Traffic is also slow, in one lane, on the main road Konjic – Jablanica, where works are underway to replace the expansion joint on the Ribićki bridge.

At border crossings, waiting times for passenger vehicles are currently no longer than 30 minutes.
