Drivers beware: Black ice, fog and rockfalls on roads

The first day of the calendar winter was marked by fog in higher areas as well as on sections in valleys and along river courses, and low cloud cover that reduces visibility. Encounters with black ice are possible on shaded parts of roads in higher areas, as well as on bridges and tunnel approaches. We also draw attention to frequent rockfalls on the roadway, announced by BIHAMK, as reported by the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Drivers are advised to, regardless of weather and traffic conditions, drive with maximum caution and to always maintain a safe distance between vehicles.  We remind truck drivers that when they notice a long line of passenger vehicles behind them, they should briefly pull over and thus allow unobstructed passenger traffic. We note that possession of winter equipment is legally mandatory for all vehicle categories.
