(Patria) - Military attacks across the Middle East have caused major disruptions to air traffic, with numerous airlines continuing to postpone and cancel flights.
EasyJet has cancelled all flights to and from Cyprus after Iranian drones attacked a British military base on the island. Air India has suspended flights between India and Zurich, Copenhagen, and Birmingham, as well as flights to the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Israel, and Qatar.
Etihad Airways announced the suspension of flights to and from Abu Dhabi until 2 PM local time, although some flights have since resumed, according to data from Zayed Airport and flight tracking services. Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv announced that Israeli carriers will gradually resume flights starting tomorrow, depending on the security situation.
Jordan announced a partial closure of its airspace as a temporary measure during the attacks. According to a decision by the Jordanian Civil Aviation Authority, the airspace will be closed daily from 6 PM to 7 AM until further notice.
Qatar, Iran, and Iraq have already closed their airspace, and Qatar Airways confirmed that it has suspended operations, with flights scheduled to resume tomorrow morning.
Due to these measures, thousands of passengers are stranded in the region, as flights are cancelled and airports are temporarily closed.
