Vogošća: Entire building where a woman positive for COVID-19 lived placed in isolation

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Upon receiving the first information that a resident of Vogošća was confirmed to be infected with coronavirus, the Civil Protection Staff of the Municipality of Vogošća held an extraordinary session and adopted urgent measures to curb the further spread of the virus.

An order was issued placing the residential building at number 2 in Samir Gradišić Street in complete isolation starting Thursday, the Municipality announced.

"This means that entry and exit from the building will be prohibited for all persons except healthcare workers, police officers, and authorized Civil Protection members. During the isolation period, residents of the isolated residential building will have all necessities such as groceries and medicines delivered through protection and rescue services. According to information received from the Vogošća Health Center, the lady in whom the coronavirus was detected reported herself and was in self-isolation, and there are no indications that she interrupted self-isolation," the statement said.

Regardless of this information, urgent measures are being taken to determine if and with whom she was in contact during that period.

At this moment, the Civil Protection Staff of the Municipality of Vogošća asks fellow citizens not to succumb to panic that potential disinformation spreading on social networks could cause.

"It is time for seriousness and responsibility. Among other things, responsibility for words spoken or written in public. Spreading false, incomplete, and unverified information can only hinder us in the fight against the virus. Therefore, we appeal to everyone to refrain from spreading such news and comments, or from activities that entail any kind of responsibility," the statement said.
