Monetize Ad Owner Responds: I Never Had Anything to Do with Anas Hamadi!

(Patria) - In response to the article published on the portal NAP.ba on May 17, 2026, in the "Aktuelno" section, titled "'Businessman' from Dubai Anas Hamadi Arrested in Sarajevo, Building Luxury Gulfland Settlement in BiH", the owner of Monetize AD, Ajdin Brković, contacted the editorial office.

"In accordance with the provisions of Article 6 of the Law on Protection Against Defamation of the Federation of BiH, and the provisions of the Code of Printed and Online Media in Bosnia and Herzegovina of the Council of Press and Online Media of BiH, we hereby submit a denial with the request that it be published in its entirety, in the same place and in the same format, and within the legally prescribed period.

The disputed text, which was fully taken from the portal Istraga.ba, but published under the agency signature "(Patria)", states: "According to Istraga's information, Anas Hamadi was supposed to meet in Sarajevo with Ajdin Brković, the owner of the company Monetize, who was previously reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska for the criminal offense of fraud and deception in business."

This statement is completely untrue, arbitrary, and represents a classic sensationalist construction whose obvious goal is to damage the business and personal reputation of the company Monetize Ad d.o.o. Sarajevo and its owner Ajdin Brković. The damage in this case is further increased due to two circumstances that relate exclusively to NAP.ba and which distinguish this publication from a regular republication on a classic media portal. First, NAP.ba operates as Novinska agencija Patria, which means that content published under this name is regularly taken over and redistributed by other media in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region, thus the defamatory allegation about Mr. Brković can be further multiplied on portals that are not the original publishers.

Publishing an unverified allegation under an agency signature is not the same as publishing it on a classic media portal, because third media rely on a news agency by the nature of its work. Second, the same article on the portal NAP.ba is also available in automatic translations into English, German, and Slovenian, as visible from the internal links at the bottom of the article. Thus, the disputed claim about Mr. Brković has been disseminated in three foreign languages and made available to readers outside the borders of Bosnia and Herzegovina, so the damage to business and personal reputation is no longer just local. We also emphasize that, according to Article 6 of the Law on Protection Against Defamation of FBiH and established court practice, the fact that the text was taken from another media does not in any way release the editorial office of NAP.ba from responsibility for its content, nor for the content of its automatically generated language versions.

First and foremost, it is necessary to point out that the correct name of the company is Monetize Ad d.o.o., not "Monetize", as stated in the text – an oversight that in itself reveals the level of information verification before its dissemination to the public, both by the original portal and by the editorial office of NAP.ba which published the text without any intervention or additional verification.

As for the essence of the matter: no indictment has ever been filed against Mr. Ajdin Brković, nor has he been finally convicted of any criminal offense – neither for "fraud and deception in business", nor for anything else. In accordance with Article 6 of the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, and the constitutional guarantees of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the presumption of innocence applies to Mr. Brković, which the editorial office of NAP.ba was obliged to respect. Without stating the date, case number, prosecuting prosecutor's office, or any procedural outcome, a formulation was disseminated to the public that consciously creates an image of a person associated with crime in the minds of readers – while in reality, there is no final act from the competent authorities that would justify such a perception. The selective mention of an alleged report from years ago, without any context and without the subsequent procedural outcome, does not constitute journalism – it constitutes labeling.

Equally untrue is the claim that Anas Hamadi "was supposed to meet" with Mr. Brković in Sarajevo. No such meeting was agreed upon or planned, Mr. Brković has no business, personal, or any other connection with Anas Hamadi, nor does the company Monetize Ad have any common points with the company Gulfland, or the Gulfland Residence Sarajevo project. By publishing this construction, the name of Mr. Brković and the company Monetize Ad have been brought into an associative connection with the arrest of a foreign national suspected of extremely serious drug trafficking offenses – although there is no factual basis for such a connection.

The company Monetize Ad operates in Bosnia and Herzegovina in accordance with all valid legal regulations, duly fulfills all obligations towards the state and employees, and its operations are transparent and always open for inspection by competent institutions.

We request that the editorial office of the portal NAP.ba, in addition to publishing this denial in its entirety, immediately remove the disputed part concerning Ajdin Brković and the company Monetize Ad from the original article and all its language versions (English, German, and Slovenian), and, in accordance with the practice of news agencies, inform all media and clients who have taken over this news from Novinska agencija Patria about the withdrawal of the disputed part of the text in order to prevent its further spread. We also request that the editorial office issue a public apology for the damage caused.

Otherwise, Monetize Ad d.o.o. and Ajdin Brković reserve all rights," states Ajdin Brković.
