Muamer Vlahovljak, owner of the first Bosnian-Herzegovinian praline production company "Mak Zara" from Vogošća, told the BiH news agency Patria (NAP) that "Konzum", as one of the leading supermarkets in BiH, intentionally stifles domestic entrepreneurs by placing BiH products in inaccessible places on their shelves. It is precisely for these reasons that he withdrew "Mak Zara" products from "Konzum".
- I paid 20,000 KM for our chocolates to be on their shelves, but I quickly realized it was a mistake. Products like "Kraš" and "Dorina" have prime locations in "Konzum", while domestic chocolates get a spot at the bottom of the shelf, at shoe level – says Vlahovljak, adding that this is not just about unfair play by "Konzum", but about direct endangerment of the BiH economy.
