Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton Approves Over 3.6 Million KM in Support for Agricultural Producers

(Patria) - At the proposal of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Management, the Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton has adopted several decisions totaling 3,639,295 KM, related to the implementation of the Program
for the utilization of the ZDK Budget funds for agricultural incentives for 2025.

- Taking into account the conditions for agricultural production in greenhouses and polytunnels in the Canton, the Government has allocated 1,079,282 KM for support of agricultural production in greenhouses and polytunnels,
at a rate of 5.5 KM/m², for 181 businesses that met the conditions of the Public Call.

In this way, the Government has fulfilled its promise to agricultural producers to do everything to protect and preserve production in protected areas, and that the funds allocated for this purpose will contribute to the stabilization of agricultural production – stated the Minister of Agriculture, Water Management, and Forestry of ZDK, Jasmin Čajić.

The Cantonal Government has allocated 1,952,200 KM for support of registered cattle farms, at a rate of 600 KM per head, for 262 businesses that met the conditions of the Public Call.

At the same session, a decision was made to approve funds for support of polytunnel procurement, in the amount of 91,913 KM, for 21 registered businesses.

Also, a decision was made to approve funds for mushroom production support in the amount of 30,000 KM, and support for registered organic production in the amount of 9,900 KM for six registered
organic producers.

Taking into account the development of the sheep and goat farming sector, an additional 344,000 KM has been allocated for support of registered sheep and goat production, at a rate of 4,000 KM per business, for 86 businesses, as well as support for
registered pig production in the amount of 24,000 KM for eight registered businesses.

At the same session, the Government made a decision to approve funds for support of the development of rural municipalities in the Zenica-Doboj Canton, in the amount of 100,000 KM, for the municipalities of Olovo and Vareš.

Funds have also been approved for support of registered breeding of indigenous and protected animal breeds in the amount of 8,000 KM.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Management of ZDK stated that they are continuing with the implementation of other activities contained in the Program for agricultural production incentives for 2025 in the Canton,
