ZDK Government Allocates Over 750,000 KM for the First Phase of Zenica Pool Reconstruction

(Patria) - Director of the Public Institution Mixed Secondary Industrial School Zenica, Selvedin Botić, and Director of the company Almy Gradnja d.o.o. Zenica, Zehrudin Ibrahimagić, signed an agreement at the headquarters of the Zeničko-dobojski Canton Government for the execution of the 1st phase of works on the reconstruction of the school swimming pool building.

The value of the contract, including VAT, amounts to 751,351.13 KM. The first phase includes the dismantling of existing pool equipment and the replacement of the roof, facade, carpentry, and sanitary facilities. The contractor is scheduled to commence work next week, with a deadline of 60 days for the completion of the first phase.

Prime Minister Nezir Pivić and Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport Mirza Mušija congratulated the signing of the contract, announcing that funds for the continuation of the works will be planned in the 2025 budget.

The indoor swimming pool has been out of operation for eight years. Due to an ownership dispute between Željezara Zenica and the Public Institution Mixed Industrial School, it had been left to decay for years. The ownership dispute was resolved two years ago, and the new Government of the Zeničko-dobojski Canton, led by Prime Minister Pivić, has made the reconstruction of the pool a priority for investment in educational infrastructure in Zenica.

In addition to the swimming pool, the project plans for the phased reconstruction of the physical education hall and other facilities within the mini-complex – changing rooms, a fitness room, and sanitary facilities.

- The indoor swimming pool of the Industrial School is a place where generations of Zenica residents recreated and learned to swim. The Government is determined to complete the reconstruction of the complex, primarily for our students and sports schools, but also for all other citizens of Zenica - said Prime Minister Pivić, announced the Press Service of ZDK.
