ZDK Government allocated over 11 million BAM for treatment of veterans and existential benefits in 2024

(Patria) - The Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton, at its 82nd session chaired by Prime Minister Nezir Pivić, adopted information from the Ministry of Veterans' Affairs regarding reimbursement of treatment costs and procurement of medicines for the needs of veterans and their family members, as well as the allocation of funds for monetary existential benefits for demobilized veterans in 2024.

According to Prime Minister Pivić, 2,200,000 BAM were allocated for treatment costs and medicine procurement, while 9,407,000 BAM were set aside for monetary existential benefits.

– With this, we show that we continuously care about the veteran population and continue to increase allocations for this category. The law adopted last year expanded the scope of rights for veterans and their families.
Today, at the proposal of the Ministry of Labour, Social Policy and Refugees, we also made a Decision on co-financing the project „Renovation of the facade of the Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary“ in the City of Zenica, for which we allocated 44,000 BAM. Also, at the proposal of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, funds were approved for the Municipality of Maglaj for co-financing the project „Construction of a sports hall for secondary schools“ in the amount of 200,000 BAM. This represents a continuation of continuous investment in educational infrastructure – said Prime Minister Pivić.
