ZDK Government Approves Funds for Municipalities, Basketball Federation of BiH, and Tourist Board

(Patria) - The Government of the Zenica-Doboj Canton (ZDK) at today's 131st session, chaired by Prime Minister Nezir Pivić, adopted a set of decisions allocating over one million KM from the budget of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, including support for the Basketball Federation (KS) of BiH with 100,000 KM.

These are funds that were recently planned at a session of the ZDK Government as part of amendments to the Spending Program of this ministry, and now, by an additional decision, they have been realized and will soon be paid to the Basketball Federation of BiH.

Last year, the ZDK Government allocated 200,000 KM for the Basketball Federation of BiH.

- Decisions were also adopted on approving funds for the purpose of financing capital projects - for the municipality of Olovo 400,000 KM, Maglaj 100,000 KM, and Vareš 45,000 KM.

For cultural events, based on a public call, 280,000 KM were allocated; for cultural-historical monuments 100,000 KM, and for youth activities 100,000 KM - said Pivić.

From the budget of the Ministry of Economy, a Decision was made to approve 200,000 KM for the Tourist Board of ZDK for co-financing the participation of business entities at trade fairs in 2026, nearly 68,000 KM.

- The Government of the Zenica-Doboj Canton continues to consistently support our entrepreneurs. At today's session, funds were approved to support entrepreneurs' participation at fairs.

It is known that we managed to restore our economic pride - ZEPS. We provided incentives for 27 business entities at ZEPS. 200,000 KM were approved for the Tourist Board of ZDK for regular activities and functioning - says the Minister of Economy of ZDK, Samir Šibonjić.

The Ministry of Labor, Social Policy and Refugees allocated 100,000 KM for co-financing projects of rehabilitation and reconstruction of a local road in the Local Community of Bradići, Municipality of Maglaj.

The same municipality was granted an additional 25,000 KM for co-financing the third phase of the project for the external arrangement of the local cemetery in Novi Šeher.

From the budget of the same ministry, 22,781 KM were approved by conclusions for individuals for linking work experience and purchasing agricultural machinery.

- At today's Government session, the Information on the state of social protection in the area of the Zenica-Doboj Canton for 2025 was adopted. The mentioned information was made in detail and compared to 2024.

The activity of social protection is carried out through the relevant ministry, through ten centers for social work, two municipal services in cooperation with 11 social protection institutions in the canton and 14 outside the canton.

In 2025, 7,912 rights were realized, which is an increase compared to 2024 by 366 rights. As for finances, 56,925,661 KM were spent - said the Minister of Labor, Social Policy and Refugees of ZDK, Antonio Šimunović.

The Ministry for Veterans' Affairs allocated funds for individual requests for solving the housing issue of veterans and activities of the Association of Blind Veterans, in the total amount of 96,000 KM.
