ZDK Government: One Million KM in New Agricultural Subsidies

(Patria) - The Government of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, at its 109th session chaired by
Prime Minister Nezir Pivić, adopted a series of decisions within the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry, with a total value of around 1,000,000 KM.

According to Minister Jasmin Čajić, the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry of the Zenica-Doboj Canton has implemented the Program for the Use of Funds for Agricultural Subsidies for 2025.

The budget for agricultural subsidies for this year has been increased by the first rebalancing and amounts to a record 6,700,000 KM, and all farmers should receive their funds by the end of the year.

– 390,000 KM has been approved for the subsidy measure “projects in agriculture,” which was introduced last year and has already shown positive effects. This year, funds have been approved for 23 agricultural producers, with whom we plan to sign contracts on Monday, so that the funds become operational as soon as possible for further expansion and development of production. Additionally, additional funds in the amount of nearly 90,000 KM have been approved for greenhouse production, thus paying the maximum amount of 6 KM per square meter – said Čajić.

At the session, funds were also allocated to support milk buyers and processors in the amount of about 303,000 KM.

– In this way, we have implemented the Program for the Use of Funds for Agricultural Production in the current year. We are already preparing the Program for the next year, which will have larger funds and, we hope, be even more efficient. Today's decisions will be forwarded to the Ministry of Finance of ZDC in the coming days, and we expect that by the end of the year all funds will be in the accounts of agricultural producers – stated Minister Čajić.

At today's government session, support funds were also awarded for registered sheep and goat production, for assistance in special circumstances, co-financing of costs for implementing standards among entities in the food business (Self-control Program, HACCP system), as well as funds for the Public Institution Institute for Health and Food Safety Zenica, for projects in the field of veterinary medicine and plants.
