ZDK Government: 100,000 BAM for the Basketball Federation of BiH

(Patria) - The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of ZDK, Mirza Mušija, signed today with the Secretary General of the Basketball Federation (KS) of BiH, Dževad Alihodžić, a contract on the transfer of funds to KSBiH for the needs of men's and women's youth selections and senior national teams of BiH that will participate in European championships this year.

This concerns an amount of 100,000 BAM. Last year, ZDK allocated 200,000 BAM to the Basketball Federation of BiH for the participation of youth national teams at European championships.

Prime Minister Nezir Pivić said that the ZDK Government continuously invests in sports, recognizing its importance for the development of young people and the promotion of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the international stage.

- Our athletes and national teams are the best ambassadors of BiH. Therefore, we believe it is the obligation of all levels of government to provide support to federations and athletes who represent our country at the biggest international competitions.

The ZDK Government will continue to be a partner in projects that contribute to the development of sports and the affirmation of young people - said Prime Minister Pivić.

Minister Mušija emphasized that the Zenica-Doboj Canton increases allocations for sports year after year and that support for the Basketball Federation of BiH is part of a broader strategy to strengthen the sports system.

- We are proud to be able to help the national teams of Bosnia and Herzegovina. These funds will contribute to better preparations and performances of our basketball players at European championships.

Investing in sports is not an expense but an investment in young people, healthy lifestyles, and the promotion of our country - said Mušija.

The Secretary General of the Basketball Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dževad Alihodžić, thanked the Government of the Zenica-Doboj Canton for its continuous support.

- This kind of support means a lot to KSBiH. We have continuous assistance from the Zenica-Doboj Canton. After almost ten years, we have reactivated the men's and women's U20 teams. The reason for this is also the support we receive from ZDK.

These funds allow us to plan and implement preparations for national teams in a quality manner and represent an additional wind at our backs in implementing our work programs - added Alihodžić.
