For the implementation of this program in 2026, 600,000 KM is planned, which represents a significant increase compared to previous years. In 2025, 300,600 KM was spent for these purposes.

According to the KS Ministry of Veterans' Affairs, this program is a response to the real needs of the population, as more than 5,000 requests for assistance in treating serious illnesses were received during 2025 alone, confirming the justification of investing in prevention.

"Previous experiences have shown that this type of support is necessary. In 2024, 454 individuals were examined, while in 2025, that number increased to 704. With the planned 600,000 KM this year, our goal is to further expand coverage and enable our defenders to undergo comprehensive examinations in one place," said the Minister of Veterans' Affairs, Omer Osmanović.

The Ministry of Veterans' Affairs will conduct a public procurement procedure to select healthcare institutions that can provide all the listed services "in one place". The Government also tasked the KS Ministry of Veterans' Affairs and the Association of Unified Veterans' Organization "Union of Veterans" KS to prepare unified lists of defenders applying for preventive health systematic check-ups for all members of the Coordination of Veterans' Associations to whom the implementation of this Program for 2026 applies.
