Canton Sarajevo Government ready to continue open dialogue with parents of children with developmental disabilities

(Patria) - The Government of Sarajevo Canton is ready to continue an open dialogue with parents of children with developmental disabilities and disabilities. Regarding this morning's protests by a group of parents of children with developmental disabilities and disabilities, the Government of Sarajevo Canton emphasizes that this group has their full attention, and that in the seven months they have been in office, they have done significantly more than previous convocations did in over 20 years.

"We have both the knowledge and the will to improve the elements that burden this group, more than what was requested from us in writing and through protests. At the same time, we are realistic and honest about what we can do immediately, as well as about those items for which we need time. Time is needed because in implementing each measure, this Government respects laws and regulations. We are ready to continue an open dialogue with citizens not only on these issues but on everything that burdens our residents," is the position of the Government of Sarajevo Canton.

Even before this group of parents addressed the Government, 1.8 million convertible marks were allocated in the Budget for their needs, which is the highest amount ever allocated for them, and a whole series of projects by associations on the territory of Sarajevo Canton that provide various services to this category of the population were approved.

Also, the Government did not ignore any of their calls for a meeting; they were invited to delegate representatives who are able to continuously participate in the dialogue because only through joint work can adequate and sustainable solutions be found.

After seven days ago they defined their needs through 20 demands, the response arrived within the agreed deadline.
