(Patria) - The Government of Sarajevo Canton, at its session held on 02/26/2026, made a decision authorizing the Ministry of Finance of Sarajevo Canton to carry out the procedure for long-term borrowing of Sarajevo Canton in 2026.
"The Ministry of Finance of Sarajevo Canton is authorized to carry out the procedure for long-term credit borrowing of Sarajevo Canton up to the amount of 117,062,923 KM, for the purpose of financing capital projects and accumulated deficit from previous years planned in the Budget of Sarajevo Canton for 2026, through a public call in accordance with Article 10a of the Law on Public Procurement ("Official Gazette of Sarajevo Canton", numbers 39/14, 59/22, and 50/24)", the decision states.
The decision was published in the Official Gazette of Sarajevo Canton.
Even during the adoption of the KS Budget for 2026, the Minister of Finance, Afan Kalamujić, emphasized that borrowing, i.e., refinancing of existing credit lines, would be undertaken.
The debt of Sarajevo Canton is 800 million KM.
