KS Government Borrows 117 Million KM, 75 Million KM for Accumulated Deficit, Remainder for Capital Projects

(Patria) - The Government of Sarajevo Canton, at its session on April 16, made a decision to accept a long-term loan for Sarajevo Canton in the amount of 117,062,923 KM from five banks.

The largest loan is 57,062,923.00 KM from UniCredit Bank, 26,000,000 KM from Intesa Sanpaolo Bank, 15,600,000 KM from Sparkasse Bank, 9,400,000 KM from NLB Bank, and 9,000,000 KM from Union Bank.

According to the published decision, the grace period is three years, and the repayment period is ten years. It is planned that funds for servicing the loan will be provided in all subsequent budgets of Sarajevo Canton for the entire duration of the contractual obligation.

The largest portion of the funds is planned for the accumulated deficit from previous years in the amount of 75,000,000 KM.

The remaining funds are planned for capital projects of six ministries, as well as for the Police Administration of the MUP KS and the Prime Minister's Cabinet, such as the construction of roads, procurement of equipment for the police, construction of the Academy of Performing Arts building, Ars Aevi Museum, construction and reconstruction of communal facilities and infrastructure managed by KJKP.

For the implementation of this decision and reporting on the dedicated use of funds and the amount of loan funds by submitting reports to the Ministry of Finance of Sarajevo Canton, within 10 days after the end of each quarter, the following are tasked: the Prime Minister's Cabinet of Sarajevo Canton, the Ministry of Transport of Sarajevo Canton, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton - Police Administration, the Ministry of Economy of Sarajevo Canton, the Ministry of Health of Sarajevo Canton, the Ministry of Education and Upbringing of Sarajevo Canton, the Ministry of Communal Economy, Infrastructure, Spatial Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection of Sarajevo Canton, the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Youth of Sarajevo Canton, and the Ministry of Finance of Sarajevo Canton, each within its jurisdiction.
