(Patria) - Mélanie Joly, Canada's Minister of Foreign Affairs, a country currently chairing the G7 and a member of the Peace Implementation Council Steering Board in Bosnia and Herzegovina, has, at the request of the Institute for Research of Genocide Canada, sent the official position of the Government of Canada on the anti-civilizational marking of unconstitutional January 9th as the Entity Day of RS.
The Minister clearly reiterated the Government of Canada's position on Bosnia and Herzegovina:
"Canada condemns the unconstitutional marking of January 9th as the Entity Day of RS. Canada fully supports the territorial integrity, sovereignty, and independence of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Canada supports the full integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina into Euro-Atlantic structures. Canada supports a stable, secure, and multi-ethnic democracy in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Canada, along with its international partners, will not allow any destabilization of Bosnia and Herzegovina, nor endanger peace, stability, and the Dayton Agreement. Canada supports the decisions of the Peace Implementation Council in Bosnia and Herzegovina”.
Canada has become one of Bosnia and Herzegovina's most important international partners in the culture of remembrance and a strong advocate for strengthening the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Emir Ramić, Director of the Institute for Research of Genocide Canada, thanked the Minister and the Canadian government for their correct attitude towards the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Canada, and for their political and material support to Bosnia and Herzegovina. Canada is an important and developed country that is good to have alongside Bosnia and Herzegovina.
"We call on the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina to pay much more attention to diplomatic relations with Canada. It is time for Bosnia and Herzegovina in Canada to be represented by true Bosnian-Herzegovinian, not entity or party ambassadors.
The Bosnian-Herzegovinian diaspora in Canada has sent a request to the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina to include Canada in the national rotation of ambassadors. In the current geopolitical circumstances, it is very important who diplomatically represents the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Canada", stated the IGK."
