FBiH Government Limits Maximum Margins on Petroleum Derivatives

(Patria) - The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at today's session in Sarajevo, upon the proposal of the Federal Ministry of Trade, adopted a Decision on prescribing a measure of direct price control by setting maximum margins for petroleum derivatives.

With this decision, the Government of the Federation of BiH, as a measure of direct price control for petroleum derivatives, prescribes the setting of maximum margins in trade (calculated price).

This decision prescribes a maximum margin in the absolute amount of 0.06 BAM/litre for wholesale companies trading non-additivated petroleum derivatives, while retail companies trading non-additivated petroleum derivatives are prescribed a maximum margin in the absolute amount of 0.25 BAM/litre of non-additivated derivative.

The prescribed restrictions do not apply to the trade of additivated petroleum derivatives from Article 15 of the Decision on the quality of liquid petroleum fuels, unless only additivated petroleum derivatives are traded in the wholesale and retail facility.

The decision applies for 90 days from the date of entry into force, and the federal and cantonal market inspectorates are tasked with implementation and supervision of this decision.

The proposer, in the reasons for adopting this decision, among other things, explained that the Decision was adopted with the aim of mitigating the negative effects of the disruption in the energy market, preserving market stability, and protecting the living standard of citizens of the Federation of BiH.

Also, it is stated that this ensures the right of consumers to choice, uniform application of regulations, and facilitates inspection supervision.
