FBiH Government Did Not Propose Budget: House of Representatives to Consider Decision on Interim Financing at Next Session

(Patria) - The proposed decision on interim financing of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the first three months of this year will be the first item on the agenda of the session of the House of Representatives of the Federal Parliament scheduled for January 24.

The interim financing will be considered a day before the House of Representatives by the Committee for Economic and Financial Policy of that house.

The Chairman of the Committee for Economic and Financial Policy of the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament, Admir Čavalić (Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina), explained that the FBiH Government has not yet submitted the Draft Budget of the Federation for 2024 to the parliamentary procedure, but that the Federation is not threatened with a financial blockade because it is expected that the FBiH Parliament will approve the decision on interim financing by February 1.

Čavalić also spoke about other topics of today's session of the Committee for Economic and Financial Policy, such as the issue of electricity price increases, especially for business entities.

- We received an initiative from the Association of Municipalities and Cities to make certain exceptions in this regard, so the Committee generally considers that exceptions are necessary when it comes to public enterprises that provide general utility services, such as water supply and public lighting, because if there is a significant increase in electricity prices, it will affect the citizens of certain local self-government units – explained Čavalić.
