(Patria) - The FBiH Government, at the proposal of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry, adopted a Decision on adopting the Program of Expenditure of Funds with criteria for distribution "Subsidies to private companies and entrepreneurs - Incentive for veterinary medicine", determined by the FBiH budget for 2025, in the amount of 3,500,000 KM.

The purpose of the Program is testing for infectious diseases such as brucellosis, tuberculosis and enzootic bovine leukosis, and, among other things, testing blood samples of animals and equines for equine infectious anemia, as well as official samples for the presence of salmonella in live poultry.

It is also intended for testing in the event of the occurrence of diseases of a zoonotic character and other diseases that occur sporadically, and whose occurrence can significantly affect animal health or have significant economic consequences.

Also, this program is intended for testing for American foulbrood (AFB), and compensation for damage for animals that have died or been harmlessly disposed of.

Furthermore, the program is intended for implementing measures of disinfection, disinsection and deratization on infected farms and means of transport, as well as education of animal owners and additional training of doctors of veterinary medicine through counseling and seminars.

The purpose of the Program is also to monitor the health safety of food of animal origin in approved and registered facilities, and to implement approved programs and plans whose implementation will provide more detailed information on the presence of animal disease agents and enable timely measures to prevent their spread.

Beneficiaries of the Program are veterinary stations and institutions that, according to the Law on Veterinary Medicine, carry out veterinary activities, and owners of harmlessly disposed animals.

The federal ministries of agriculture, water management and forestry, and finance, each within its scope of authority, are responsible for the implementation of today's Decision.
