Eternal Derby on the Most Important Day in Sarajevo's History: Everyone Promises a Good Match and Atmosphere

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - This is a nice picture, I am glad that people who wrote the history of both clubs are here, as well as people from other positions, and I thank Mayor Abdullah Skaka for organizing the conference in the City Hall, said FK Sarajevo strategist Husref Musemić at the joint conference ahead of the city derby Željezničar - Sarajevo.

The match at Grbavica will be played tomorrow, on Sarajevo City Day, at 7:30 PM.

 

"It is the first time that the derby is played on City Day, and our obligation is for all actors to do everything to ensure it passes in the best order, fair and correct and sportsmanlike. It is known that points are needed by both teams, and that gives seriousness, and we hope for a manly match because we need points," said Musemić, noting that this is such an atmosphere in which he would rather not mention football.

Sarajevo captain Krste Velkoski said he is honored to be part of the whole story.

"First of all, I hope for the last derby, not in terms of the result, but that it is played in a fine atmosphere. Both we and FK Željezničar are in some crisis, so the players are aware of what this match brings for the rest of the season and we are ready to welcome the match and hope for a positive result," said the Macedonian international.

Željezničar coach Amar Osim also thanked the mayor for organizing the press conference in the City Hall.

"It is the first time that the derby falls on this day, there are many symbolic things, you know what happened on this day. The greatest sporting success of a collective from BiH. Also, too little is said about Liberation Day, and we will do everything so that the derby, probably the only one played on that day, passes in a friendly tone as much as possible, and we hope that the audience and all present will be able to talk about it after the match," said Osim.

He said that the 17-point difference between the eternal rivals is an absolutely accurate indicator of the difference between the teams at this moment, but that it does not have to mean much in the match.

The public was addressed by Sulejman Krpić, Željezničar striker, who said he hopes to win three points in the city derby.

"As for the derby, we know what the derby is like, as the coaches said, it will be a manly match, tough, and of course we need points. We need them from every match, and we will try to play a manly and fighting match and hope to win three points at our Grbavica," said Krpić.
