(Patria) - More than 100 participants started a hiking trip to Zelengora today, in memory of former football player and coach of Football Club (FK) Sarajevo Dženan Uščuplić, who besides playing football also enjoyed hiking.
Dženan Uščuplić
The Bosnian sports public was shaken on August 8, 2024, by the news of the tragic death of Uščuplić, who perished in bad weather while hiking on Zelengora, in the area of Trebovi katun.
Uščuplić's playing career was almost entirely tied to FK Sarajevo, with whom he won three BiH Cups and one Supercup. As a coach, he led the first team of the Bordo club on four occasions, and in 2015, he won the BiH championship title and two Cups.

He also left a special mark in the youth academy, where he led Sarajevo's juniors to significant successes.
FK Sarajevo also remembered Uščuplić yesterday:
"It has been exactly one year since Dženan Uščuplić, former player and coach of FK Sarajevo, left us. As a player, he left a great mark, and as a coach, he inscribed himself in history with golden letters, winning the championship title and two Cups of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Although he is no longer among us, his legacy continues to live at the Koševo stadium and in the city of Sarajevo. FK Sarajevo remembers our Dženan with pride and sadness, who always gave his all for the club and whose name is forever etched in our history".
